Jonathan reorganized the Carter Foundation.
Every financial record became transparent.
Independent auditors replaced trusted friends.
No single executive could control the accounts.
But the biggest change had nothing to do with money.
Jonathan created the Rebecca Carter Family Advocacy Fund.
Its purpose was simple.
Help families facing medical crises, coercion, financial abuse and complicated custody disputes.
Daniel helped design the program.
Lauren Foster joined the advisory board.
Michael Mercer returned under his real name after years of hiding.
Even Dr. Reed volunteered.
At the opening ceremony, reporters asked Jonathan why he created it.
He looked toward Sophie and Ben.
"Because my daughter believed she had to save everyone alone."
He paused.
"No one should have to do that."
Later, Sophie stood beside Rebecca's photograph in the lobby.
This time, she was smiling.
Daniel joined her.
"Do you miss her?"
"Every day."
"Me too."
Sophie looked at the large crowd.
"Mommy did all this?"
Daniel considered the question.
"Kind of."
Sophie smiled.
"She'd like that."
Daniel looked toward Jonathan.
"Yeah."
