Two years after Claire found Evan with Madison, she hosted a small gathering at the villa.
The infinity pool reflected the same mountains.
But the house felt different.
The company had recovered every stolen property.
Rosa now managed a scholarship funded in her name for hospitality workers’ children.
Madison had become a respected financial-abuse advocate.
Daniel stood near the terrace talking with Claire’s employees.
He did not act as if the villa belonged to him.
He did not need it to.
Claire walked to the edge of the pool.
For a moment, she remembered Evan’s shocked face and the diamond ring beside the champagne.
The memory no longer burned.
It simply belonged to an earlier life.
Daniel joined her.
“You disappeared,” he said.
“I was saying goodbye to something.”
He did not ask for details.
