Ten years after Claire first entered Bellamy Jewelers, she returned.
Lily was sixteen.
Samuel was twenty-two and finishing law school.
Rebecca came too.
Ethan still managed the store.
He smiled when he saw them.
“The famous necklace.”
Claire laughed.
“Unfortunately.”
Ethan showed them the original velvet box.
Claire had donated it years earlier to an exhibit about the fraud case.
Lily picked up the gold card.
Rebecca is still alive.
She looked at Rebecca.
“That sentence changed everything.”
Rebecca shook her head.
“No.”
She looked at Claire.
“Your mother refusing to run changed everything.”
