A legitimate developer offered Samuel nine million dollars.
Mark wanted to sell.
Noah wanted to preserve the property.
Their old argument returned immediately.
Samuel listened until both men were shouting.
Then he rolled his wheelchair between them.
“This house nearly destroyed us because everyone treated it like a prize.”
He proposed a different plan.
The family would sell only the unused rear acreage. The money would pay for Samuel’s care, restore the orchard, compensate other Haven Ridge victims, and establish a trust that neither Mark nor Noah could control alone.
Mark objected.
Noah did too.
