Caleb Marsh disappeared before police could question him.
So did Samuel’s original will.
The only copy left in the house named Mark as sole heir and removed Noah entirely. Samuel swore he had never approved it.
His real will divided the property between Mark and Noah, with strict instructions that the orchard remain intact.
Without the original, the family faced a long court battle.
Then Samuel remembered his late wife, Ruth, had never trusted Caleb.
“She made copies of everything,” he said.
They searched the attic and found an old metal box beneath Christmas decorations.
