Noah opened the letter with shaking hands.
Ruth had written it six months before she died.
She warned that Caleb had repeatedly pressured Samuel to place the land into a private development trust. Samuel refused, but Ruth feared Mark’s financial problems would make him vulnerable.
She included a copy of the real will and a handwritten note describing a hidden camera installed in Samuel’s office after documents went missing.
The camera had stopped uploading years earlier.
Emily checked the old computer connected to it.
The hard drive still worked.
Video showed Caleb entering Samuel’s office, photographing the will, and replacing it with another document.
The footage was four years old.
