Chapter 11 - One Phone Call
Daniel began shouting.
He insisted everything was legal.
He accused Rachel of manipulating their father.
He accused Elena of stealing medication.
He threatened to sue everyone.
Then Arthur made the call.
Henry Collins answered.
“Mr. Whitmore?”
Arthur looked directly at Daniel.
“Freeze everything.”
Daniel stopped shouting.
Arthur continued.
“Freeze every account. Challenge the property transfer. Cancel every authorization that carries my signature.”
Daniel lunged forward.
The officers restrained him.
“Dad, stop!”
Arthur’s voice shook, but he did not look away.
“You told everyone I didn’t know what I was talking about.”
Daniel struggled against the officers.
“You’re making a mistake!”
Arthur nodded slowly.
“Yes.”
Daniel looked almost relieved.
Then Arthur finished.
